In this new version, the problem persists that when I want to move files, it only copies them. Why? It's a bug they haven't fix in a long time.

Title: TeraCopy RC 3 installer bug: “Another version of this product is already installed”

I’m trying to install TeraCopy RC 3, but the installer stops with this error message:

Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.

The problem is that this prevents the RC 3 installer from continuing, even though I’m trying to update/install the new version.

Could you please check if this is an installer bug?

P.S. I currently have TeraCopy RC 2 installed.

got several sql-insert errors after adding more jobs. these persist till I kill teracopy task

I have the exact same problem as Andrea, Installed over 3.17 and can't register copy handler or make it default. Adding Target and source manually and drag and dropping files in is super tedious, will have to go back to 3.17.

Windows 10. It will nott let me register copy handler. Nor let me flag Use Teracopy as default copy Handler.
I flag both and click ok, i repoen the prefernces window and both remain unflagged.

I am finding that the app closes out if I do any copying within File Explorer, or if I happen to navigate the destination drive in File Explorer. Not sure why that is happening. Have removed the right click handler/registration to attempt to resolve, but the app is still randomly closing out. Weird. On Windows 11 25H2 / 26200.8457

The installer used to let you choose portable mode why that's not an option anymore? It even force the install in a fixed path why is this necessary?

Not sure what happened, but my USB externals now seem to be limited to 1 thread.

Other issues I had seem to be resolved, time will tell.

Why cant I install this...The exe launches and then it goes blank cant see anything but the logo on light and dark modes. I've had teracopy forever just wanted to update. I Uninstalled before I ran this. Other exes will install
Edit. I fixed it i ran it in compatibility mode for windows 8. Maybe because this is 32bit.

Liking the new version, though getting an error when trying to copy out of a ZIP file. Says source folder does not exist.

Hi, With the latest RC2 version, moving files sometimes fails or leaves folders behind with an error 'Sorce: Folder not found, yet it still exists. Sometimes it moves it as intended, but still throws up the Sorce: Folder not found, which you would expect when moving.

I also tried moving a 34gb folder to another drive, TeraCopy locked up and after an hour hadn't moved anything. I had to end the task.

So far, I'm loving this new version, but moving a lot of files there are issues and the progress bar seems to be missing and only shows a graph, which is no help and the file count stays at 0/0 instead of 1538/1538 (or how many files are copied). I hope the progress bar gets fixed as currently, I can't see what % is copied.

Not working for me on a system with existing install, execute operation, click teracopy and nothing happens. No errors in Windows logs either.

Really happy with Teracopy, download the free version a while ago and never looked back. Bought it today. Yes a few little bugs in the new version, but I am sure you will iron these out. Look forward to the final version. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the update! Liking the new UI; feels like elements are more clearer.

Some issues I've noticed, though:
1. Sometimes, despite the transfer options being set to multiple - in my case, 16 - transfers, it still transfers sequentially.
2. The percentage is stuck at 0.0% while copying. It appears that the percentage count works fine when verifying though.

using portable mode may crash with user account profile windows... happen to 3.17 as well.

I tried using the TeraCopy RC 2 version, and found that it DID NOT WORK !!

It kept popping a box that said "NO TARGET" (specified ?).

I uninstalled RC2 and reinstalled version 3.17 which works fantastically.

Please fix those RC2 bugs to make it work just like version 3.17.

Otherwise, good job, and well done !!

I have installed Teracopy RC4.
Cutting (STRG+X) Folder/files and inserting (STRG+V) not working. TeraCopy will not started. After Installation of RC4 it shows me that there is an Update. The Update is the older Version 3.x.
In the older Versions, if i put in copy jobs and add another, the copy jobs will be startet if the first one ended and so on.
in RC4 alle copy jobs startet after adding. i did not found any settings to change this

I bought the Pro version to use the multi-threading.
When I did test, it was running all the threads I configured. I was glad it is utilizing the PC resources. However, when I run the copy command it always switch to single mode like this:
Switching to single-thread mode.
Any clue why?

I think my problem was caused when I installed the RC version over the beta version. So I did a clean install of RC and it's working without any problem

I have stop using TC months ago when I so development went 1 step forward and 3 steps backwards.
Each time something was either fixed or implemented 2-3 things got broken and never fixed.

I also had this problem in the beta but in a clean install of RC it seems to be working as it should when moving files between volumes.
